Make a BrainSTEPS student referral at 4-6 weeks post-concussion if symptoms persist.

What is a concussion?

A concussion is any bump, blow to the head or jolt to the body.  It is a cellular injury, not a structural problem. 

Some common causes of a mTBI / Concussion can be, but are not limited to:

  • Abuse
  • Falls
  • Motor vehicle accidents
  • Bicycle accidents
  • Sports activities
  • Recreation activities
    • Playground
    • Recess
    • P.E. class
    • Skateboarding
